What is the toolbox?
The AdRisk toolbox consists of more than 35 tools to enable professionals to get ideas on how to develop campaigns or carry out projects aimed at preventing injuries in adolescents. Presented in a user friendly way, the tools are described in English and can be downloaded or viewed online. Along with the AdRisk Good Practices Guide and the AdRisk European Situation Analysis, the toolbox will enable health professionals to start actions in their own country, region or city.
What’s in it?
The toolbox contains videos, leaflets, fact sheets, manuals, clips, teacher’s tools, campaign materials, brochures, questionnaires, guidelines, etc. You will also find items such as a briefing written to a communication agency on how to develop a tv-campaign targeted at adolescents. There is also a list of the do’s and don’ts in communicating with adolescents. There is an example on research done in adolescents at school by talking to them on risks using video clips from www.youtube.com. There are descriptions of workshops aimed at talking to and working with young people on all kinds of risk-taking behaviour. There is a training session you can use on the risk of snow-boarding. You’ll find documentaries on adolescents and risk-taking behaviour.
All this information has been compiled in the toolbox for your inspiration and use.
How does it work?
All the tools are presented in an overview which you can easily scroll through. Visual icons indicate if the tool is available as a pdf, movie clip or website. You can search the overview easily by type of tool, sub-domain or by using keywords. The toolbox will be maintained and new tools will be added in the future.
Who can use it?
All professionals who would like to prevent adolescents from getting injured: health professionals, teachers, practitioners, coaches and trainers of sports clubs, social workers, paediatricians, driving instructors, researchers, policy makers, etc.
When is it available and how you can access it?
The toolbox is available online from September 25, 2008, the date of the AdRisk launch. All AdRisk products, such as reports, guidelines and the toolbox are accessible to the public and can be downloaded on www.adrisk.eu.com.
